The CDAI (Clinical Disease Activity Index) is used to assess the activity of rheumatoid arthritis by considering the number of tender and swollen joints, as well as patient and physician global assessments.

Calculation Formula

The CDAI is calculated as:

\[ \text{CDAI} = \text{Tender Joint Count} + \text{Swollen Joint Count} + \text{Patient Global Assessment} + \text{Physician Global Assessment} \]

CDAI Score Interpretation

  • Remission: ≤ 2.8
  • Low Disease Activity: > 2.8 and ≤ 10
  • Moderate Disease Activity: > 10 and ≤ 22
  • High Disease Activity: > 22

This calculator helps clinicians quickly determine a patient’s disease activity and aids in guiding treatment decisions.
